Just a couple of things about the blog, which you might have missed if you’ve been reading through subscriptions. Also I just need a break from ‘real’ blog posts.
Sorry about the outage a couple of days ago. Last month I just scraped by with my bandwidth allowance, but this month I smashed it and had to purchase some extra to see me through the rest of the month. Everything should be up and back to normal now.
I appeared on the ObscureCast with Gazimoff and Stu! Except that Stu’s router broke *sadface* I think I sounded more confident than I did last time.
I’m considering guest posts on almost any WoW/Virtual Worlds/Social Justice topic, send me a pitch at mentalshaman AT googlemail DOT com. Guest posting would of course include a link back to your blog if you have one.
I’ve turned comment threading off completely. I’ve never been a fan of it (although I wish I could retain it for some of my older posts) and I’d prefer folk just used @name for replying. I’m going to include a ‘quote comment’ link to help make this easier.
I’ve added a Comment Policy and updated my About page. Please let me know if you want anything clarified or have some advice/criticism on the way I’ve laid out my info.
The Fanart Profiles are going to be a regular series. I’m aiming to do at least one a week. Again, get in touch if you think I should clarify a point, or cover a particular theme.
I am due to start blogging at The Border House soon, once I’m happy with my introductory post and the first thing I’m going to publish there.
I’d also like to make a general request to my awesome readers that they try to refrain from ableist language in the comments on my blog. I have been lax about this, and I apologise for that. I talk a lot about intersectionality, and that includes people with disabilities. If you find it difficult to express your rage at someone being misogynistic, homophobic, transphobic or just plain nasty, here are some suggestions (you can also use your imagination and come up with some new ones!) It’s very easy to resort to ‘retarded’ in WoW, like the word ‘rape’ it is thrown around a lot, but that doesn’t make it any better.
This is still a WoW blog, and not just a Social Justice blog. Posts about killing Internet Dragons and throwing Lightning Bolts around are still in the future of this blog, if you’ve been wondering what happened to them. It’s just summer, and I’m not playing so much but I am still reading and exploring the game.

Didn’t know if you were aware that your image is not visible

@Windsoar – o.O That’s a bit strange, as I can see it perfectly. Not visible in the feed, you mean?
I’m really happy to hear you’ll be doing some blogging over at The Border House – I’m a big fan
